This piece of spalted cherry is nearly exactly how I found it, minus being covered in dust and greyed out from years of shelf dwelling.  A little sanding revealed it's dreamy grain and potential for trying something new within it's shape, fitting the pages to the book matched covers.  The are cracks on the edges were kept to retain character.
